EPIC Noblechair Review: Nothing Short of EPIC

by Former GT Staff Writer

Believe it or not, there has been a growth in the Gaming Chair market. Why, I don’t know, but I love options. I was familiar with brands like DXRacer, Arozzi, and Merax. I wasn’t sold on the brands that I mentioned, so I hadn’t bought one yet. I don’t know why, but I feel like they are marketed or designed for a 14-18 year old gamer.

I’m almost 30 years old, and I’m married. I have been looking for a sophisticated chair that not only looks mature, but is stylish at the same time. It wasn’t until E3 2017, that I found Noblechairs. When I saw the EPIC line of chairs, I thought to myself, “Finally”!

Specs

Weight – 61.7 lbs

Dimensions – 22.1 x 20.5 x 55.5 in

Material – PU Faux Leather or Real Leather

Not much to really dive into on these specs. Most important parts of a gaming chair is the look and feel of it. However, one thing does stick out in these specs. The chair weights in over 60 lbs. That is NOT light by any means, but would only be mildly intolerant if you were rolling on your home carpet. Rolling on a harder surface will make it float like a butterfly. There is a good aspect to the weight. The weight does allow even the largest of gamers to sit in confidence, and not worry if it will fall apart.

The 4D arm rests drop low enough that if you have a short desk, you can still tuck in your chair. I am 6’4” and can sit comfortably with the arm rests fully extended. The rocking mechanism works up to around 11 degrees. The height adjustment of the chair is roughly 5 inches. The chair doesn’t have any inputs for sound or motion like the GT Throne chairs have, but I am 100% okay with that. It’s still kind of a niche thing at the moment.

Build Quality & Aesthetics

This is a very high-end, premium chair. It’s as if you took the driving chair our of a Ferrari. Absolutely gorgeous stitching and designs on all options. There is a stick handle to recline the back. Again, very similar to a sports car. Crisp, clean lines and branding. Only thing missing is a steering wheel! Seriously though, the level of detail is tremendous.

For the price you pay, I would expect nothing short of amazing German engineering. In fact, that’s exactly what you get. Noblechairs is entirely out of Germany. From the time you receive the product, to the time you put it together, to the time you have thoroughly used it, you will notice the difference. Everything was meticulously placed. The setup was extremely easy. Took all of 5 minutes.

What Could Be Better

I don’t have many complaints about the EPIC series chair. The one that stands out the most is the cushioning. Yes, it does come with a neck and lumbar cushion, but the chair is very stiff. Not stiff to the point where you get uncomfortable quickly, but noticeable.

Verdict

If you are looking for a gaming chair, but don’t want a cliché gamer looking chair, its worth considering. The EPIC series from Noblechairs is nothing short of exotic. Let’s just say, I’m not giving it back! You can buy them on amazon and newegg. What are your thoughts? What’s important to you when buying a new chair?
