NPD Sales Data For November Sees Rockstar's Open World Masterpiece Take Top Spot
The NPD sales numbers for the month of November have been revealed and what a month it was! Rockstar’s open world masterpiece Red Dead Redemption 2 has taken the number one spot beating out Activision’s Call of Duty Black Ops 4. Both Red Dead Redemption 2 and Black Ops 4 launched back in October with Black Ops 4 taking the crown of best seller for that month. Third place for the month of November was taken by the latest entry in the long running Battlefield franchise Battlefield V. The EA published shooter has been revealed to have performed well under expectations and saw several sales at both digital and physical retailers.
Taking fourth last month was the controversial Fallout 76 followed by the pair of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikach/Eevee. The Pokemon Let’s Go games have also been revealed to be the second highest selling console Pokemon games behind the Nintendo 64 classic Pokemon Stadium. Taking seventh was NBA 2K19 followed by Madden 19 in eighth. Claiming ninth for November was Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy the triumphant return to form for one of gamings older mascots. finally, closing out the top ten for the month November is EA’s FIFA 19. Overall software sales reached $1 billion for the month of November and year to date sales have passed $5.8 billion, which is a 9% growth over 2017.

Over on the hardware side, November saw Nintendo’s latest hybrid console take top spot over the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. November was record setting for hardware with all three consoles selling over 1.3 million units each. Overall hardware revenue was $3.9 billion up 3% over previous periods.
