Open Beta For SPLITGATE Is Now Set To Stay Open Thanks To Massive Player Base

The small team over at 1047 Games has made a hefty decision regarding their free-to-play arena shooter title Splitgate. While the open beta was originally planned to be temporary, they have decided that it will remain open and available to players on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation for the foreseeable future! After gaining a traction of 10 million downloads in the first month from the launch of the open beta and jumping for 4,000 to 175,000 concurrent players, they’ve turned their focus into the game’s future.

Now that they have expanded and improved the servers, which dramatically reduced player queue times to usually under 10 minutes, they have turned their focus onto the finer details. Updates to the game’s backend framework are being rolled out daily as well as regular minor upgrades and bug fixes. The studio has several content updates for fans planned through the rest of this year. There are even plans set for a significant announcement to be revealed during Gamescom 2021!

If you haven’t checked out Splitgate yet, there’s really no better time than now! To get you started, check out the announcement trailer and gameplay trailer included in this update announcement. Both were released in June when the open beta started.
