OVERWATCH Pro Gamer Gets the Bench for Trolling and Streaming Anime Porn
And the justice has arrived! No longer do we have to endure these trollers and griefers, as action has finally been taken. Meet Daniel “Dafran” Francesca, who is an extremely skilled DPS player for Selfless. He is also very much a self-proclaimed griefer and troll... well, he was.
Blizzard and Selfless have officially suspended him from playing Overwatch any further for the time being. He has been kicked off his team's roster permanently, and is no longer permitted to play in Overwatch competitions.
This isn't a sudden move though. Francesca has been crossing the line for months now, losing on purpose in ranked competitive modes. The final straw occurred last night when he was playing a match, admitting that he was deliberately throwing matches. He indicated that he might get banned from Twitch while streaming a video of cat girl having some sexual indiscretion with sim Nekopara.
Overwatch Forums and subreddits were inflamed with outrage, more for his cheating than for the anime porn show. It seems that even the best player in the world is not immune from justice. Even Selfless went as far as condemning his behavior.
Upon further VOD review of Dafran’s behavior, especially this past night, we have found his actions to be completely unacceptable, and in clear violation of Blizzard’s rules around player conduct, in addition to our own expectations of player/teammate conduct
And it seems that even trolls can learn a lesson now and again. Francesca wrote an ode to his poor behavior, as well as a quick tweet, and finally decided to change his ways...or maybe not. You decide:
I am starting to realise my actions may be affecting my org, teammates and their careers. I honestly do not give a sh-- what happen[s] to me and my fu--ing career, you can all go fu-- yourselves. I reap what I sow and I deserve this.
Selfless has indicated that Francesca may return to their roster once he receives the help, counseling, and guidance that he needs to improve his mental and emotional well-being. If that actually helps him, maybe they could start a troll counselling seminar or training that can be used by those other trolls out there.
Do you believe he has received adequate justice? How do you feel about trolls and griefing? Let us know.
