OVERWATCH Servers Are Officially Dead As OVERWATCH 2 Launches Season 1
It’s official. As on October 3rd, all servers for Overwatch have been completely shut down and the popular team-based first-person shooter game has come to an end. Blizzard Entertainment has completely closed the doors on Overwatch in order to pull all their players and turn all of the attention on to the series’ next chapter; Season 1 of Overwatch 2!
Overwatch 2 will be the next free-to-play FPS title from Blizzard that will carry on the esports quality experience that players have come to love. To kick it off, they have announced the details for Season 1 and shown the rewards those who decide to purchase the battle pass will receive.
While this change may be hard for some and there is a chance the experience will differ slightly from the original title, moving forward is almost always a sign of progress. Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, all with full crossplay.
