PLANET OF LANA Gets A New Trailer At The Game Awards

Wishfully and Thunderful debuted a new trailer for their atmospheric indie title, Planet of Lana, at The Game Awards last night, showing off more of the game’s striking art style and introducing the score from The Last Guardian composer Takeshi Furukawa.

The trailer opens on a crystal blue skyline filled with faint, white curvature of another, nearby planet. The camera then focuses on a young girl riding a robotic horse through a barren desert as she attempts to avoid robotic drones chasing her.

After she’s knocked from her horse, a small black creature with a curly tail attempts to wake her to no success. The trailer ends with the release window of 2022 and the confirmed platforms of Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles.

Planet of Lana is described as “a puzzle adventure game framed by an epic sci-fi saga that stretches across centuries and galaxies.” In a preview video to the trailer, Takeshi Furukawa expressed his desire to compose for the game because of the similar themes and relationships it has to The Last Guardian.

Planet of Lana was first revealed during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest earlier this year, and GameTyrant flagged it as a game to look into during our coverage of the event. Look for Planet of Lana to launch sometime in 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
