POKEMON GO Players reach a new Milestone

Pokemon Go has recently counted up the collective total of all the players on their game. The first milestone they noted was on September 7, 2016, which was when players had walked a total of 4.6 Billion kilometers. That means on September 7th, we the players had walked a collective amount that would of taken us to the planet Neptune!

But there is a new milestone reached. As of December 7, 2016, players have journeyed 8.6 Billion kilometers. That's over 200,000 trips around the world!

Now that we have traversed a greater distance than from Earth to Pluto, we have surpassed the distance of our own galaxy and are continuing to make progress. Along this journey, a total of 88 Billion Pokemon have been caught. That's roughly 533 million a day!
This is just one of the many milestones reached and the game isn't even a year old. But now we have more data to show that Pokemon Go achieved what they set out to. They got tons of people to get up, get out and get active.

Congratulations to all the players and congratulations Niantic for accomplishing what you had hoped to achieve!
