Prime Matter and Nightdive Studios Partner For SYSTEM SHOCK Remake
You read that title right; Prime Matter and Nightdive Studios announced earlier this week that they would be partnering up to bring the System Shock remake to its eager fanbase. This team-up will help Nightdive finish up their massive project in order to make it a playable experience in 2022 for both PC and consoles.
“System Shock has been a true labour of love and our goal has always been to deliver a game that is as close to perfect as we can make it,” said Stephen Kick, Founder and CEO of Nightdive Studios. He continued, “We're excited to partner with Prime Matter to achieve that goal and see this as an important step in the growth of Nightdive Studios.”
Thus far, the Nightdive team has worked very closely with many members of the original team that brought the game to life in 1994. Even the voice of AI SHODAN, Terri Brosius, has returned to make sure that the game provides the correct experience to fully honor the original’s legacy.
System Shock is available to pre-order for PC and Linux (Steam, GOG, and the Epic Game Store) for $44.99. Each of the listed storefronts also provide a demo for players to check out as well. System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition will be included free for all early buyers of the System Shock remake.
