PUBG Mobile Hits The US And Other Territories

After a soft-launch in Canada, the hit battle royale game, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is now available in mobile devices in the US and many regions all over the world.

The developer describes the mobile game as a “faithful adaptation” of its PC counterpart. PUBG Mobile will feature the same battle royale concept that made the game extremely popular all over the world. Similar to its console and PC counterparts, the mobile game will pit 100 players against each other with one simple and clear objective, which is to outlast all the other players and become the last man standing.

PUBG mobile was developed in collaboration with the mobile gaming giant Tencent. The Corporate Vice President of Tencent, Chen Jerry, said that:

“We are working hard to create an authentic PUBG mobile experience that players new and old will love. A lot of [work] went into controls and optimization to give players a smooth and intuitive experience.”

PUBG mobile is not the only battle royale game that is available to mobile devices. The game’s competitor, Fortnite by Epic Games, has already rolled out a preview of their own battle royale mobile game to select iOS users who have pre-registered for the invite-only test of the game.

The mobile version of PUBG was released in the US and most territories after a successful launch in Canada that garnered massive amounts of positive feedback from iOS and Android users last March 15 and 16. The only downside to PUBG mobile is that it doesn’t support cross-play with other versions, unlike Fortnite Mobile.

You can download PUBG mobile for free from both the iOS and Android stores today. What do you think of the growing trend with battle royale games expanding to mobile? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
