RANT TIME: Gamers And Reviewers Need To Settle Down Regarding STARFIELD
Remember the days when the latest reviews were only in print form where you actually had to crack open a physical magazine to see what the latest big game scored? After seeing the insane hyperbole regarding Starfield during the past several weeks, I long for those simpler times. Starfield is an immense game. Yet I have been bombarded with rushed reviews and impressions that jumped the gun on judging a 100+ hour game solely based on the first few hours.
Granted, we live in a very different world than the print magazine days. Gaming is different. Gamers are different. Consumer habits are different. We want everything and we want it now. These changes are becoming more apparent on the mentioned hyperbole around a massive, hyped up game like Starfield. People need to settle down and take this game for what it is: It is like a fine wine, meant to savored and sipped, not chugged down like a 44oz soda. The first few hours are daunting, slow, and overwhelming yet as you sip and savor after 10+ hours, the game opens up and you see the intricacies, details, and passion that was put into this amazing game.
