Revived Game RIVER CITY GIRLS ZERO To Release Physical Editions And New Platforms
As a title that was originally published in 1994 on Super Famicom under the name Shin Nekketsu Koha: Kunio-tachi no Banka, River City Girls Zero is being revived and brought to PC and consoles this year. This classic 16-bit beat ‘em up title is being developed by WayForward and published by Arc System Works - the same team that released River City Girls in 2019 and announced River City Girls 2 for Summer 2022.
Seeing how Shin Nekketsu Koha was the inspiration behind River City Girls, it is fitting to see the developers bringing the original to the modern-day gaming platforms. It is surprising to see that they are announcing two different River City Girls titles in the same year though. But they aren’t done either as they also partnered with Limited Run Games to offer a physical release of River City Girls Zero for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Pre-orders are open until March 13th and while supplies last.
If you want more than the standard version of the game, they are also offering the Classic and Ultimate packages. The difference between these two packages is actually pretty vast.

The game will be released digitally on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch sometime in early 2022. If there was any time to get into a new beat ‘em up series, it is now! The whole River City Girls series is about to have quite a busy year.
