A cell-shaded comic book-themed rollerblade shooter is the last thing I would have imagined being hyped for. The creative minds over at Roll7 are bringing us Rollerdrome, a high-octane action shooter that aims to provide fluid movement and visceral combat. Check out some behind-the-scenes footage here!

Rollerdrome is set in 2030, where corporations run amuck and society is fueled by nonsensical violence. The hottest distraction in town is Rollerdrome, a blood sport geared toward violence and brutality. Players are tasked with the goal of becoming champions of Rollerdrome and revealing the true intentions of the Matterhorn corporation.

Skaters can expect to utilize tricks and fluid movement to incorporate into their combat, providing a great mix of challenging and satisfying gameplay. Along with the aerial acrobatics and trick shots, players can expect a booming original soundtrack to keep the momentum flowing all while dominating the ring.

Roll7 announced today that Rollerdrome will have a game trial available at launch, exclusively for PlayStation Plus Premium members. This will allow gamers to test out the rink for themselves before diving in.

This single-player third-person shooter will be available on August 16th on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
