In addition to many updates, Minecraft 1.19.4 brings accessibility improvements, including introducing a high-contrast resource pack. This built-in resource pack enhances the contrast of UI elements, making it easier for players with visual impairments to navigate the game menus. Although this feature is currently limited to menu UIs, developers are working on extending it to gameplay UIs in the future. To access the high-contrast resource pack, simply head to the Accessibility menu and enable the option.

Outlook: What is coming soon?

Minecraft 1.20, titled “Trails and Tales” will be released in Summer 2023, focusing on self-expression, storytelling, and worldbuilding. The update introduces new blocks, such as bamboo and cherry blossom wood types, functional chiseled bookshelves, patterned pots, and hanging signs. Two new mobs, the camel, and the sniffer will also debut.

The long-awaited archaeology feature will finally arrive in 1.20, allowing players to uncover pottery shards, hidden tools, bones, and sniffer eggs using the new brush tool on suspicious sand near desert temples. Furthermore, a beautiful cherry blossom biome will be added, featuring pink trees and animals like pigs, sheep, and bees.

Armor trims, another new feature, will enable players to customize their armor pieces with colorful patterns using smithing templates. Lastly, the much-anticipated bundles, which allow players to store multiple item types in a single inventory slot, may also appear in this update.
