Sega Brings YAKUZA REMASTERED COLLECTION To The West

Sega has announced the Yakuza Remastered Collection for the PlayStation 4. Curiously, the content will not all be available at the outset. There is an upfront cost to the collection and Yakuza 3 is ready to play immediately upon purchase, but Yakuza 4 and 5 will unlock on October 29th, 2019 and February 11th, 2020, respectively. Check out the announcement trailer above.

The games will feature content that was previously cut from the series, including mahjong, shogi, and even the cabaret mini-games. The remasters have been upgraded to 1080p resolution and they're running at 60fps. Also, when Yakuza 5 releases in February, there will be a limited run of physical copies for the game, which is a first. If you're curious as to how the remastered content looks on the PS4, here's some gameplay of Yakuza 3 from Gamescom, with commentary from the developers.
