A new space-themed survival sim is about to enter early access. Developed by Supercube, The Pioneers: Surviving Desolation places the player in control of three astronauts in a nearly hopeless situation. Their ship has crashed, nearly all of the crew has perished in the impact, and they're stranded on the desolate and uninhabitable moon of Io.

Players will be able to build and upgrade a base that can provide shelter for the remaining crew, and will need to explore the surface of Io for resources. That's easier said than done however because it is full of hazards. Earthquakes, electric storms, and even volcanoes will present a danger to the crew.

In addition to trying to survive, players will need to try and complete their mission and gather valuable scientific data on the volcanic moon. Crew members will be randomly chosen from a pool of fifteen potential survivors. All have different strengths and weaknesses that players will need to adapt to. The game boasts an advanced health system to attend, to keep everyone on Io functional.

There are set to be many winning conditions and multiple endings. Different playthroughs will not necessarily play out the same as previous ones, making each save a novel experience.

The Pioneers: Surviving Desolation will release into Early Access for PC via Steam on January 20th 2023.
