Hopper is alive! But he’s not in Hawkins, anymore. The 50-second teaser for the next chapter in Stranger Things revealed that the gruff, lovable sheriff did not die at the end of Season 3 as the audience was led to believe.

A post-credit scene at the end of the season suggested a slim chance that Hopper had survived the explosion and was a Russian prisoner, and now that’s been confirmed. In the newly-released teaser, Hopper is laboring with other prisoners on a railroad track, and he’s sporting a new look. He looks a lot like… Eleven.
