What Are the Trials of Osiris?

Trials of Osiris, the apex of Destiny 2's PvP warfare, is a high-stakes variation on Crucible's 3v3 Elimination game mode. On weekends, players can participate in Trials to obtain some of Destiny's most valuable weapons and equipment by demonstrating their PvP abilities. Participating in Trials of Osiris benefits both PvE and PvP players because it allows them to get exclusive pinnacle gear, masterwork materials, weapons, armor, and Adept gear.

How to Unlock Trials of Osiris?

To unlock the Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2, players must meet several requirements:

  • Reach Power Level — Players need to ensure their character's Power Level is at least 1310 to participate in Trials of Osiris.

  • Complete the Introduction Quest — Before gaining access to the Trials, players must complete a brief questline called "Trials Access." This quest usually involves visiting Saint-14 in the Tower and completing a series of objectives. This quest is typically available to players who have completed the Forsaken campaign.

  • Assemble a Fireteam — Trials of Osiris is a highly competitive PvP (Player vs. Player) activity that requires a fireteam of three players. Ensure you have a well-coordinated team before attempting to enter Trials.

Once these requirements are met, the Trials of Osiris will be accessible via the Crucible menu. Keep in mind that Trials of Osiris is a weekend-only event, typically running from Friday to Tuesday, so players can only participate during these specific times.

How Do Points and Ranks Work in Trials of Osiris?

Players earn Trials Rank points by participating in Trials of Osiris, which operates on an XP-based system. As you progress through the game mode, you'll reach specific milestones that unlock designated ranks. Each season features six major ranks, accompanied by three minor ranks per major rank (excluding the final rank), totaling sixteen ranks to achieve.

  • Guardian I — 0-49 Points

  • Guardian II — 50 Points

  • Guardian III — 125 Points

  • Brave I — 250 Points + 2 Upgrade Modules

  • Brave II — 500 Points

  • Brave III — 950 Points

  • Heroic I — 1,550 Points + 3 Enhancement Prisms

  • Heroic II — 1,925 Points

  • Heroic III — 2,525 Points

  • Fabled I — 3,350 Points + Seasonal Trials weapon

  • Fabled II — 3,875 Points

  • Fabled III — 4,650 Points

  • Mythic I — 5,700 Points + 2 Upgrade Modules

  • Mythic II — 6,450 Points

  • Mythic III — 7,525 Points

  • Legend — 9,000 Points + Seasonal Trials weapon

  • Reset — 10,000 Points + 1 Ascendant Shard

For each major rank you achieve, you will receive a Trials Engram, which you can either turn in or focus on with Saint-14. To attain the highest level, you must gain 10,000 points in total. Once you reach this rank, you can return to Saint-14 to reset your progress and begin over with a new set of goodies to earn. After the reset, you can go through the ranks again and obtain comparable rewards, however, the upgrade materials will change slightly. Your progress will be saved throughout the season but reset when the next season begins. This is exactly how the other playlist systems work, and you can track your progress by going to Saint-14 or hovering over your current rank in the Trials playlist.

What Are the Trials Passages?

Passages provide special bonuses that benefit you. At the start, just two passes are available, but if you win more in one passage, additional will become available. Here are the benefits and requirements:

  • Mercy — nullifies one defeat

  • Ferocity — provides a bonus win following a 3-winning streak

  • Wealth (needs seven victories) — raises the Trials tokens earned by winning matches

  • Wisdom (needs flawless passing) — grants extra XP for wins

  • Confidence (needs five wins) — provides an additional reward for faultless chests

You can only use one path at a time; therefore, you cannot stack benefits. Every time you buy a new route, the progress of any card you're now holding is reset, so make sure to fully complete and turn in a previous one before purchasing another. Once you've lost three times, you can reset the passage on your Quest tab, eliminating the need to purchase a new one after each of three losses.

Summing up
