The Haunting Of Verdansk Comes To CALL OF DUTY: WARZONE And MODERN WARFARE Tomorrow
Halloween is just around the corner, and after weeks of speculation, we have confirmation that the holiday is invading Call of Duty. The event titled “The Haunting of Verdansk” starts tomorrow (October 20th) and runs until November 3rd. It will give players a ton of Halloween-themed content in both gameplay and customization. This not only will affect Warzone but it too will have some effects on the Modern Warfare multiplayer as well.
The event in Warzone provides many different things that you can participate in during your playtime. There’s a new Halloween “Trick or Treat” reward system in place that will have players search the map for new Halloween-themed supply boxes. There are 16 different rewards you could find inside and range from personalization items to weapon blueprints. Once you collect all 16, you’ll be given the ultimate treat, the “Pumpkin Punisher” Legendary Assault Rifle blueprint. Be careful though as you might find a trick instead of a treat inside every once in a while. Here’s an event guide provided by Call of Duty to help give some clues as to where you can find these supply boxes. A side note here is that these boxes can be found in all of the Warzone modes no matter what type or time of day they take place in.
Aside from Trick or Treating, there are some other spooky things going on around Verdansk such as Nightime Infiltrations and Zombie Royale. Nighttime Infiltrations is the regular version of BR with it being set at the witching hour, but you can further your experience by choosing to go into a zombie-infested mode. Zombie Royal is another version of the Verdansk map set at night but with a twist. Operators that fall during battle won’t have the option of fighting it out in the Gulag. Instead, they’ll come back as flesh chasing zombies. You won’t be able to use a weapon but will have supernatural abilities such as increased speed, improved jumping, and damage-heavy melee attacks, but lets's not forget about the thermal vision either. You can come back from your zombie infection though, as when players are killed they drop a syringe that shows up on your map. If you’re lucky enough to collect 2 of them as a zombie, then you’ll be cured and parachuted back down with your loadout to get back into the action.
When it comes to purchasable content, there is a plethora of different cosmetics, personalization options, and blueprints for you to buy. The packs talked about by the Call of Duty team include:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Leatherface
Saw - Billy
Dr. Karlov
Grim Reaper - Ghost
Dia De Los Muertos - Mace
Each one comes with some really epic weapons blueprints and cosmetics especially. I’ve got my eye on the Leatherface set myself.
Lastly, there’s Modern Warfare. There are many new elements be implemented into old and new modes available in multiplayer. From Gunfight to Ground War you can expect to see Jack-O-Lanterns popping up when any player gets 3 kills in life. Upon hitting 10, the Jack will catch fire to show-off the mean killstreak. Besides this, comes the new modes Onslaught, and Snipers Only.
Onslaught - This mode sees squads fighting to take control of a Juggernaut suit that spawns in random places around the map. Watch out for that mini-gun if your squad doesn’t catch that suit in time and use killstreaks to turn the tide of battle in your favor. During the Halloween event, the Jug will sport a Jack-O-Lantern head to enhance the holiday spirit.
Snipers Only - Just as it sounds, you’ll be in a sniping battle with 5 pre-determined load-outs for gamers to fight it out with to the death. The squad with the most kills wins.
I’m so excited to get into the Halloween content that’s coming to COD tomorrow. I just can’t wait!
