The PlayStation Portal Can Now Stream Games Without A PS5 Console

The PlayStation Portal is easily one of Sony’s most popular products, the ability to do remote play while also getting the DualSense experience is something fans enjoyed and with a new update shared on the PlayStation Blog, there is good news for people who want to get more from the handheld device.

In an update on their blog, the following was shared:

This update will also include a beta version of a new feature that many fans have been asking for – support for cloud streaming on PS Portal. When the update is live, PlayStation Plus Premium members will be able to participate in a beta for cloud streaming on PS Portal, allowing select PS5 games in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog* to be streamed directly from our servers, even without a PS5 console.

This means that if you are on the PlayStation Plus Premium plan, you can get even more bang for your buck from the PlayStation Portal by utilizing the cloud streaming without having the PS5 on. This is a major game-changer.

It is also emphasized that this is a beta feature and as such, there will be problems or issues, but this is definitely something that can significantly enhance the experience from the hardware.
