The PS4 Demo Of YAKUZA KIWAMI 2 Is Now Out On PSN
After the successful launch of Yakuza 6, the latest installment in the franchise, developer Sega is proud to release the demo for the remake of Yakuza 2 back in the PlayStation 2. The demo for Yakuza Kiwami 2, is now available for the PlayStation 4 via PSN. The remake is powered by the Dragon Engine, which is the same one used for Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 is already out in Japan since December of 2017, but the localized version is scheduled to launch on August 2018 worldwide. The demo of the upcoming game puts players on Chapter 2 of the story as the character Kiryu, who is on a search for the Dragon of Kansai, Ryuji Goda. He is still loyal to the Tojo Clan and is dedicated to protecting them against the rival Omi Alliance.
Check out the game’s official description from Sega:
“Yakuza 2 was released to the world in 2008 for PlayStation 2, a sequel to the critically acclaimed Yakuza, following the journey of Kazuma Kiryu as he attempts to distance himself from the criminal underworld he was raised in. Ten years later, Yakuza Kiwami 2 brings that world to the PlayStation 4, completely rebuilt from the ground-up. In the tradition of 2017’s Yakuza Kiwami, the envelope is pushed to the extreme, using the all-new Dragon Engine to update one of the series’ stand-out titles into a modern classic.”
The demo for Yakuza Kiwami 2 can be downloaded from the PSN, and the full game is set to release on August 2018.
