TINY METAL: FULL METAL RUMBLE Is That ADVANCE WAR Sequel You Always Wanted!
There are a ton of us out there that love the Advance Wars series. After 2 GBA games and a couple of DS sequels the series vanished. Now a new title has emerged to fill the void left in Advance Wars wake, say hello to Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble! Tiny Metal takes the Advance Wars formula and builds upon it with numerous changes including hard and light fog of war, new mech units and different refueling options. One of my favorite advancements I got to see in action was the new lock-in system. In other games you would have to select each of your units and have them attack individually which takes forever. Now if you have 2 units attacking the same target using lock on will allow both battles to happen simultaneously rather then needing 2 separate fights.
I got to play through the second level of Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble during my hands on time at E3 2019 and really enjoyed it. I would have my ground units capture buildings or take cover on top of a mountain to provide better sight-lines for my vehicles. The lock-on system did a lot to really help the flow of the game and keep the action moving which I appreciated. When my vehicles were low on fuel I would send my APC’s to resupply them quickly to keep them in the fight. The mission was a pretty quick one but it definitely got me excited for the game! It was also interesting to see the new mech units in action and I can’t wait to see more of them. Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble is coming out on Nintendo Switch and PC later this year so keep your eyes peeled for more!
