Treyarch Confirmed That There Are No Plans for BLACK OPS 4 on the Switch

Although it’s not exactly surprising that a Call of Duty game skips a Nintendo console, a few weeks ago rumors circulated that several sources confirmed that the upcoming title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, will be heading to the Nintendo Switch. As it turns out, during an interview with Twinfinite, game designer Matt Scronce was asked if there are plans to bring the game to the Switch. He responded with a clear “no there is not.”

The speculation from the sources revealed that a Switch version of Black Ops 4 is in development. However, it will not be the same game that other platforms will have since it will only contain a battle royale mode as reported by the sources. At least the developers finally put this rumor to rest, which is one of the only few that turned out to be false.

In the reveal event that happened a couple of days ago, Treyarch revealed a few details regarding the upcoming shooter. First, the developer confirmed that the game will have a battle royale mode dubbed as Blackout. Furthermore, Treyarch shared a few details regarding the game’s highly-anticipated Zombies campaign, which will feature a brand new cast of characters and a new enemy. Lastly, Activision announced that the traditional single-player campaign will not be present in the game. Instead, the game will feature solo missions focused on each of the Specialist characters.
