Vatican Releases A POKEMON Go-Like Game That Lets Players Collect Saints
A Catholic group has recently released a video game that resembles the ultra-popular mobile game, Pokemon Go. The Vatican-blessed game is called JC Go where players are tasked to collect saints and other religious figures to join your “evangelization team.”
JC Go was reported by an Italian newspaper called Corriere della Sera, which revealed that players won’t need to attack Saints and other biblical figures to collect them. Players must merely answer a question, and the biblical figure will be automatically added to your team.
Similar to Pokemon Go, players can explore real life locations to locate and collect Saints. The idea for the game was developed by Fundación Ramón Pané, which is a Catholic, evangelical group, who made the app in preparation for World Youth Day 2019 that will take place in Panama in January.
“You know, (Pope) Francis is not a very technological person, but he was in awe, he understood the idea, what we were trying to do: combine technology with evangelization,” said Ricardo Grzona, executive director of Fundación Ramón Pané.
