XDefiant is Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter with licenses from their existing IP’s merged into a single game. The game only recently got a Season 2 update, and it seems that according to Shaun Weber on X, the game could only go on until Season 4 before it is axed by the publisher.

XDefiant had a very divisive launch, with many people having issues with the hit-detection, weapon balancing, and the lack of skill-based matchmaking, but it seems that the game could already be in trouble as according to Shaun, the game has only got a couple of seasons to get more players before the company decides to axe the project.

Whether or not this claim holds true will be something that only time will tell. Fans are divided on the rumor.
