ZONE OF THE ENDERS: THE SECOND RUNNER Is Delayed, New Trailer Released

We all know that Konami has been developing a remake of the classic PS2 shooter, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner for quite some time. However, the developer confirmed via Twitter that, instead of releasing the game this spring, which was the original release window announced at TGS 2017, the remaster will now be delayed until September of 2018.

The game will eventually launch on the PC and PS4, and Konami will also be releasing VR versions of the game, which will feature a first-person mode, and will support the PlayStation VR. However, no word is out on which VR headsets for the PC will be supported. Additionally, all versions of Zone Of The Enders: The Second Runner will showcase enhanced graphics, 4K resolution, and a brand new sound design that will feature surround sound.

Together with the announcement of the new release window, Konami has also released a brand new trailer for Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner. In the preview, the developer compared the upcoming remaster to the original PlayStation 2 game and the Zone of the Enders HD Collection, which was released back in 2009 for the PlayStation 3. You can check out the trailer below.

ZONE OF THE ENDERS: THE 2nd RUNNER M∀RS is coming September 2018! Become Jehuty in both fully remastered 4K and the newly created 1st person VR game-play! Check out the 4K technical comparison trailer and get ready to embrace an a whole new experience of this classic title!

It’s disappointing whenever players hear that the upcoming game they’ve been waiting for gets delayed. However, on the bright side, at least the team behind Zone Of The Enders: The Second Runner care enough not to rush the development process and release a half-baked title. Here’s to hoping that the few months of delay would bring an even better game come September.
