The Evercade handheld has begun to ship and the early impressions are fairly positive! Thanks to its cartridge-based library I have been very interested in the system since it was announced. Each of the Evercade’s cartridges comes with a curated collection of games with 10 being available at launch and another 5 scheduled for the remainder of 2020. Today, another of these cartridges has been revealed and it is the Oliver Twins Collection that will feature 11 titles.

The Oliver Twins Collection cartridge includes the following games.

  1. Treasure Island Dizzy

  2. BMX Simulator

  3. Fantastic Dizzy

  4. Super Robin Hood

  5. Go! Dizzy Go!

  6. Dizzy The Adventurer

  7. Panic Dizzy

  8. DreamWorld Pogie

  9. FireHawk

  10. Wonderland Dizzy

  11. Mystery World Dizzy

We were really excited to hear about the Evercade. It promised to be an awesome way to play officially licensed Retro games, either on the move or the TV – with classic collectable Cartridges. It was well designed and a great price. What could be better?!
Then they reached out to Codemasters and us to ask permission for a special Oliver Twins collection which would include 11 of our classic 8-bit console games!
That now makes it the best Retro console in our eyes and we’re really pleased that thousands more people will be able to enjoy the games we wrote around 30 years ago!
The lovely people at Blaze and Codemasters have also agreed that ALL profits and licencing royalties go to charity.

I haven’t personally played any of these titles but they mean a great deal to a lot of people out there and thanks to the Evercade handheld I will soon be able to try them out for myself in an easy way. Best yet all the proceeds from the sell of the Oliver Twins Collection will be donated to the National Videogame Museum! The Oliver Twins Collection is expected to ship in Q3 2020 and joins the growing list of Evercade carts.

What do you all think of this most recent cartridge announcement?
