If last night’s The Game Awards wasn’t epic enough, jaws dropped when Remedy Entertainment revealed Alan Wake 2. Following the release of Alan Wake Remastered and his inclusion in the Control DLC titled “The Alan Wake Experience”, fans were holding out hope for a true sequel to the beloved 2010 title. Thankfully, Remedy had all of their dominos ready to fall into place for us.
The trailer shows off gorgeous cinematics and a new yet familiar environment that Alan finds himself in. We see the woods, Bright Falls, and finally, New York City. There’s also the real peril of the fact that Mr. Scratch may still play a part in his story as we get a jumpscare at the end, hinting at it.
Alan Wake 2 is set to release in 2023 on PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5
