Bandai Namco Shows Off First Look At ELDEN RING Gameplay

Elden Ring, the next action RPG from FromSoftware, debuted a glimpse at gameplay yesterday, showing off the game’s rich, open-world and how players can expect to interact with the creatures and people that live there. The preview jumps around to show off different mechanics and locations through the game’s world, including part of its overworld and one of the dungeons.

The roughly 19-minute video starts out with the player character, one of many beings known as the Tarnished, visiting a rest spot called a Site of Grace before venturing out into the wider world on the back of a spectral steed. It’s not long before a dragon crashes to the ground and initiates what appears to be an emergent boss encounter.

The preview also showed an example of some of the side quests that can be found throughout the world of Elden Ring followed by a glimpse at item crafting and stealth gameplay. There are also spirits players can summon to aid in combat, as well as online multiplayer for cooperative or competitive play.

The preview closed out with a look at one of Elden Ring’s dungeons, intricately designed locations that house the game’s toughest bosses, the Demigods. These dungeons will have multiple pathways players can use that require a mix of stealth and combat to be effectively navigated.

The trailer also revealed a collector’s edition for the game that includes a steel-book case and physical at book. Elden Ring will now launch on February 25th, 2021 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC and is now available to pre-order.
