Back in 2017, Bloober Team (Video game development studio behind Layers of Fear and Blair Witch) released a psychological sci-fi horror game titled Observer. The game follows a physically augmented detective who attempts to crack a case by hacking the minds of the victims, and others associated with the crime committed. Bloober Team has just recently announced that they plan to bring Observer into the next generation with Observer System Redux.
The announcement came from a brand new Twitter account created by the development team, and currently only features two tweets. Both tweets tease the new project, and state that a full reveal would be happening soon. I feel it is unlikely that we would be receiving an Observer remake/remaster, as the game only released a few years ago. It is more probable that Observer System Redux is a sequel to the first game, but this is all speculation.
Either way, I am excited to see what Bloober Team can do with the next-gen technology, and can’t wait for more from them in the future. In the meantime, we will just have to wait until “soon” for more information on Observer System Redux.
