Fortnite’s season 4 began with the mysterious comet crashing down the Battle Royale map that added several features in the game with new crater areas and a new alien item. Check out the official announcement of Season 4 from the patch notes released by Epic Games below:
“Season 4 is starting off with a BANG. Shards of a massive comet have crashed into the map altering the landscape. Discover gravity-defying Hop Rocks and find new ways to play. Jump in and witness the aftermath of the impact while you level up your Battle Pass and earn all new loot.”
Check out the map after the comet crash where you’ll see Dusty Divot, the major new area and several share craters all around the island. In addition, the newest Battle Pass includes a hundred new tiers of rewards plus seven new superhero-themed-skins.
Lastly, Season 4 introduces several tweaks and bug fixes in game. The most significant change is that players can now destroy structures on the first island, which is the one where players wait while a match fills, and the 6-item restriction for sprays and emotes that players own has now been removed.
