A past time that many people have is to think up situations they would never find themselves in and how they would overcome them. One situation that comes to mind is the idea of being abducted since it is plausibly a possibility, but could you successfully escape? This is the situation that Darkstone Digital created with their puzzle-based thriller game Our Secret Below.
Players take on the role of Nia Davis, a woman who has been kidnapped and chained to an unknown basement wall. Finding out she only has four hours to live if she stays there, the objective to escape becomes a mandatory one that can’t wait. In order to do this, she will need to understand her captor. Escape your cell, uncover your captor's past, and use that knowledge to escape to freedom, but be prepared to find that you may not like what you find.
While the game is set to launch on Steam sometime in the Summer of 2020, their free demo is available only on itch.io currently. They also have a Kickstarter set up now and it has already made it halfway to their goal, so be sure to check it out and help it become a success!
