One of the more surprising games announced during Summer Game Fest had to be the next Sonic the Hedgehog title from SEGA and the Sonic Team! Just last year we got Sonic Frontiers, a phenomenally well-done open-world style game with our favorite blue hedgehog, and this year we will be getting Sonic Superstars.
Claiming the quote “New Thrills. Classic Feels.” really does say it all. This announcement reveals the return of the classic Sonic gameplay of running fast through various levels built to be completed through side-scrolling speed platforming. They even revealed that this game will offer four playable characters and showed gameplay of all four characters playing together, revealing cooperative shared screen gameplay!
Sonic Superstars can be followed through their website, which will reward of an exclusive Amy Rose skin. The game is set to launch in the Fall of 2023 on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and NIntendo Switch.
