Fantasy RTS THE DRAGONESS: COMMAND OF THE FLAME Gets A Release Date

A rogue-lite with real-time strategy elements. That’s an interesting combination, to say the least. This innovative approach to the genre is thanks to publisher PQube and developer Crazy Coat Games who have decided to go against the industry and do something different with the roguelite genre. The Dragoness: Command of the Flame mixes rogue-lite with turn-based combat, exploration, and base-building for a rare combination.

The backdrop for the game’s story is the Drairthir Peninsula. The Dragoness solicits the aid of an elven commander to help her quell the land after a devastating civil war. The Shai Va are the main enemy force and threaten the Dragoness, hence the need to ask for help. The elven commander will have to harness the various schools of the arcane to achieve success in battle.

The commander and the city they’ll be based in, Niwenborh, will be upgradeable. The city can be improved with different buildings that unlock new spells and units. Forty unique units can be recruited and used in the whopping thirty-hour story mode! Old levels can be replayed to increase skill level and unlock new resources which play into the rogue-lite genre. There’s a lot of work ahead to restore the Dragoness’s lands, but there’s a lot of fun planned along the way.

The Dragoness: Command of the Flame will release on August 10th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A Nintendo Switch release is planned for September 7th.
