FINAL FANTASY PIXEL REMASTER Comes To Consoles This Month

The Final Fantasy series is one of the most enduring and recognizable franchises in history, and it shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. Just last year, Square Enix released a remastered collection of the first six games in the series for mobile devices and PC dubbed Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster. Now, this hefty collection of classic RPGs is making its way to consoles for the first time.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection contains every mainline, pixel-graphic title in the mainline series, including the original Final Fantasy and the beloved Final Fantasy VI. This collection will be the definitive way to play many of these classic games, and Square Enix has also included a bevy of improvements for the decades-old titles.

Players will be able to experience the original soundtracks for each Final Fantasy game in the collection or switch to a modern, orchestral rearrangement. There’s also a new font style that more accurately recreates the original game’s text in addition to the default font. Players will also be able to customize their gameplay experience by adjusting the experience earned from battles and turning off random encounters entirely.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster launches on April 19th for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch preorders are available now. Additionally, each game in the collection can be purchased individually. Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is currently available on PC via Steam, iOS, and Android devices.
