FORTNITE Is Celebrating All Things Star Wars This May The 4th

Fortnite continues to establish itself as the quintessential pop culture melting pot this week with a massive Star Wars celebration in honor of the May The 4th. The latest Lucasfilm Games collaboration will feature a host of Star Wars goodies for players to get their hands on, including a new set of quests that simulates Storm Trooper training. Any player who completes five of these quests will unlock an exclusive Empire Banner for their locker.

In addition to the quests, players also have the chance to add the E-11 Blaster Rifle to their inventory and take out opponents with that iconic pew pew. The E-11 can be purchased with bars from Imperial Storm Troopers, found in treasure chests, or simply picked up off the ground in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.

Players will also have the opportunity to live out their Jedi (or Sith) dreams by wielding those ancient weapons from a more civilized age. That’s right, lightsabers are back in Fortnite and fans will have the chance to pick up some of the most iconic weapons in franchise history, including Luke Skywalker’s green saber and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s noble blue blade.

And, for anyone who missed them the last time they were up for sale, every Star Wars outfit (except the Mandalorian) is available for v-bucks in the item shop. This includes outfits for Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn, and Zorii Bliss from the sequel trilogy; an Imperial Stormtrooper and a Sith Trooper; and Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, and Krrsantan from the Disney+ show The Book Of Boba Fett. Alongside this announcement, Epic Games released a short trailer showing off the in-game lightsaber combat before teasing a possible Obi-Wan outfit that could come to the game before the end of the event.

The May The 4th event is live in Fortnite right now and will run until May 17th. For more on Fortnite check out why we think the new Zero Build mode is great for dad gamers.
