Free-To-Play GUNDAM EVOLUTION Announced With A Network Test Happening Soon!

If you’re a fan of mobile suits shooting each other to bits, I have some great news for you. Developer and publisher Bandai Namco has announced that GUNDAM EVOLUTION will release in 2022 across North America, Europe, and Japan on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. It will also simultaneously release on PC in these same regions as well as across other parts of Asia.

On release, this free-to-play team-based first-person shooter (FPS) will feature 3 objective-based game modes in a 6v6 format. The starting roster will have 12 units, including the classic RX-78-2 GUNDAM and the ASW-G-08 GUNDAM BARBATOS. Fans of the Mobile Suit Gundam anime franchise might recognize these iconic suits. You will be able to unlock new mechs through in-game currency attained through gameplay, or by purchasing EVO coins through real-world purchase.

There will be a PC closed network test of GUNDAM EVOLUTION from April 7-12, and on console platforms in the future. If you are ready to strap yourself in you can register for the PC Network Test by visiting the Steam page between now and March 28th and clicking on “Request Access” under Playtest.

The goal for the game is to “balance approachability and mastery, making it the perfect shooter for players of all skill levels to enjoy solo or with a group of friends” says Ryoto Hogki, the Gameplay Director at Bandai Namco.

Players who purchase season passes will unlock more cosmetic accessories as they play, such as mobile suit skins, weapon skins, and weapon charms.

GUNDAM EVOLUTION will be officially launched in North America, Europe, Japan, and other regions in Asia on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in 2022.
