Guitar Legend John Petrucci Plays the Theme from SUPER MARIO BROS.

If you’re a fan of rock and metal music, you probably know the name, John Petrucci. He is one of the best guitar players out there and is in the prog-rock band Dream Theater. Well, if you’re a fan of him (and I know I am) and you’re a fan of video game music, you’ll love to hear that he recently hung out with YouTuber FamilyJules and played an awesome cover of the Super Mario Bros. Theme. The cover lasts for about a minute and is freaking killer. Both he and FamilyJules use his signature Majesty guitars from Music Man and after the cover, Petrucci goes a step further and gifts one of them to FamilyJules. That lucky son of a gun. Not only does he get to jam with Petrucci, he gets gifted a guitar by Petrucci.

If you’re unfamiliar with FamilyJules, you should really go check out his channel. He focuses on doing guitar covers of video game themes and he’s really good. One of my favorites is his take on "Kraid’s Lair" from Metroid. Last I heard he is a Schecter artist, although I wonder if things may start to shift with how much he loved the John Petrucci Majesty.

Ernie Ball hit me up and asked me if I would like to do a video with John Petrucci this month while he was doing his tour for G3.
