Halloween Update For SPLITGATE Includes Esports Update

Getting into the festivities of the season, 1047 Games has released a cosmetic update for their portal-based FPS title Splitgate. This update adds a Halloween flair to the iconic stadium level and is being referred to as Spooky Stadium. The overall update is being called SpookyGate and brings a festive makeover to the main menu as well as the Stadium level. They also added Halloween challenges that will reward players with some fan-created weapon skins.

Of course, the update can’t be fully cosmetic though. They have also included important enhancements to portals, which now re-place when shooting the same portal on itself, as well as various bug fixes.

Earlier this week, 1047 Games and Logitech rolled out the first professional Esports tournament, the Splitgate Pro Series, with a purse of $100,000 USD with cash and prizes from competition partner ASTRO Gaming. Spookygate content will be in rotation on the tournament playlist, but the enhancements are cosmetic and do not affect gameplay.

Matches begin October 17 and will be broadcasted via Splitgate’s official Twitch channel. Also, fans can keep up with results via the Splitgate Pro Series website.
