ICYMI - 20 Years After His Debut, KAO THE KANGAROO Is Back!

Gamers who played the SEGA Dreamcast back in the early 00s may have fond memories of a cartoon kangaroo that bounced and punched his way through colorful platforming adventures. Well now that kangaroo, Kao the Kangaroo to be exact, is back and better than ever in his latest game aptly named, Kao the Kangaroo which will be releasing this summer!

The original dev team that created Kao back in the day, Tate Multimedia is the same team of masterminds behind this latest adventure! Starting as a fresh reboot, this time Kao finds himself on his biggest mission yet as he sets out to find his missing sister and solve the mystery behind his long-lost father.

Gameplay is a return to form with modern improvements as players will once again, as Kao, pick up those magical boxing gloves and travel the world saving monsters from a dark power that’s mind-controlling them. The game features gorgeously colorful visuals as well that still retain the vibes of the older titles yet breathe new life into the series.

“It’s really exciting to finally be able to say to people that, yes, we will be launching Kao the Kangaroo this summer,” says Kaja Borowko, Head of Studio. “Throughout development, it’s been important to us to make sure Kao’s new adventure both feels like a tribute to his previous outings for existing fans, as well as a fresh, contemporary platformer for newcomers. This is not a sequel, this is a complete reboot, and we can’t wait to see players young and old come together to take on the role of Kao once more this summer.”
