During the Microsoft and Bethesda E3 showcase, Obsidian Entertainment shocked fans with an announcement and teaser trailer of The Outer Worlds 2! Most were expecting an update on Obsidian’s other title in the works, Avowed, which was announced at last year’s E3 conference.
News of an Outer Worlds Sequel is a welcome surprise for this popular and highly rated sci-fi open-world RPG. Having released two DLC packs since its release, Peril on Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos, the game has proven itself to be a major success. Quirky and ridiculous as it may be, it’s wildly popular and now synonymous with Xbox and Game Pass.
The teaser trailer didn’t reveal much about the game, other than it’s coming and they are still early on in the development process. In fact, the video itself pokes fun at teaser trailers (including its own!) While we didn’t learn much through this announcement, it still has us pumped for what’s next in this franchise!
The Outer Worlds 2 will be an Xbox first-party exclusive, launching on PC and Xbox Series S|X. It will also be added to Xbox Game Pass on day one. We look forward to learning more in the coming years ahead!
