Guillermo del Toro sent out a tweet early this morning about his love for the art of former Silent Hills collaborator, manga artist Junji Ito. This news comes along to further disappoint horror game fans, including myself. Ito's sense of the down right creepy is rivaled by very few. Knowing that he was involved further explains how unnerving the imagery was in the early concept trailer we saw at the Tokyo Game Show back in 2014. That level of taking the ordinary and pushing it to seemingly unfathomable amounts of scary is sort of Ito's specialty. Add this as one more reason why I'm bummed we'll never see this iteration of the game that could have changed the face of horror for a long time.
