It was real! Those pesky rumors usually turn out to be nothing but a waste of everyone's time and complete annihilation of one’s hopes. But this one was true. Konami is finally delivering a AAA title to gamers after years of hiatus and they are starting with a bang. Silent Hill 2 is officially being remade as a timed exclusive for PlayStation 5 and will also be released on PC.
Silent Hill 2 is a fan-favorite entry that follows the story of James in search of his deceased wife after receiving a letter from her. Of course, this causes him to head to Silent Hill in search of some answers, in hopes of finding his late wife. Although it is a bit odd to start remaking the franchise with the second entry, I am sure fans are just thrilled to have anything made at this point. The teaser trailer showed off stunning graphics and top-notch animation.
The remake is being helmed by Bloober Team, the twisted minds behind Layers of Fear. This is a very promising and smart choice on Konami’s behalf and I can’t think of a more appropriate fit. There surely is a lot to be excited about for Silent Hill fans and I am sure this is just the beginning of Konami getting back into the swing of things. Keep an eye out Metal Gear fans!
