LITTLE NIGHTMARES Series Reach 12 Million Units Sold On Its 6th Anniversary!

The beloved, dark and whimsical puzzle adventure series Little Nightmares has hit an impressive milestone, which was revealed on its 6th Anniversary by Bandai Namco and Tarsier Studios. The milestone in reference is that the franchise crossed the sale of 12 million units!

The series began with the release of Little Nightmares in 2017, which was my first big title review after I joined the GameTyrant team. After players helped Six escape the Maw, an underwater vessel filled with grotesque inhabitants, they worked with developers Alike Studio and released a mobile title called Very Little Nightmares. This was a prequel title where players had to escape the Nest and discover more about Six’s backstory. The latest game in the series came in 2021 and it is the sequel titled Little Nightmares II. Another well-reviewed title, this time it told the story of Mono, a young boy with a paper bag on his head, meeting the girl in the yellow raincoat.

In regards to the series and this special day, Arnaud Muller, CEO of Bandai Namco Europe S.A.S., stated, “The Little Nightmares franchise has seen some great growth and success since the first episode, which was released six years ago today. We are proud of the work accomplished by the teams at Bandai Namco Europe S.A.S. along with Tarsier Studios, Engine Software, and Supermassive Games to make great games while at the same time expanding the franchise to more media”

If you haven’t played through this series for yourself yet, then now’s a great time to pick it up. They are hosting a few sale opportunities to celebrate the Anniversary and Milestone. This includes 60% off Little Nightmares II and even the full collection (Little Nightmares I & II plus all DLC) for under $40 USD on Steam!

Little Nightmares is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Little Nightmares II is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Very Little Nightmares is available on iOS and Android.
