Mario Is Getting His Own Encyclopedia

Mario has been an iconic character in the video game industry ever since his debut back in the 80’s. Now, Dark Horse Publishing, who has been successful with its The Legend of Zelda reference books, is now eyeing the Mario franchise as it plans to release a book chronicling 30 years of everything Mario in the Super Mario Encyclopedia.

The encyclopedia will cover everything there is to know about Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom. Dark Horse plans to look at every single Super Mario game from 1985 to 2015.  The latest entry in the franchise, Super Mario Odyssey was not able to make the cut, as it was just released last year.

The encyclopedia will chronicle enemies, level designs, known glitches, tips and tricks, and a guide to help players find all collectibles in the game including coins, stars, mushrooms, and many more. The book will be 256 pages thick, filled with the history of the franchise, that will definitely be a treat for fans of Mario and Nintendo alike.

The book is slated to be released on October 23 this year with the standard edition priced at $39.99. Dark Horse has not announced any collector’s edition as of the writing of this article, but given their video game publications in the past, it is only a matter of time before a fancier version of the encyclopedia will be announced.
