After three whole years since the last release, developers NetherRealm Studios and publisher Warner Bros Games are excited too announce Mortal Kombat 1! With a pre-order bonus of Shang Tsung as a playable characters and access to the pre-order beta!
In Mortal Kombat 1 players will discover a completely reborn Mortal Kombat Universe kreated by Liu Kang. You will fight through a brand new story featuring the characters you know and love (or hate) in a way that you have never seen them before. With the new era of the iconic franchise, you can expect to see the same fighting system, some new game modes, and most importantly FATALITIES. Along with some new features like Kameo Fighters, where you will choose from a unique roster of fighting partners to assist you in battle.
The announcement trailer showcases that we have nothing to worry about when it comes to the Mortal Kombat brutality that we’re used to. We are also quickly reintroduced to some fan favorite characters like Mileena, which people were upset she wasn’t in the last one right away. We also get to see a younger Raiden who may or may not have his powers and in the background you can see a very ominous thunderstorm with lightning so we’ll see how that plays out. The trailer sort of teases the direction of the story, but to me it gives off a sort of fork in the road story where it can go either way depending on the choices that you make.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available for pre-order now! If you pre-order you will gain access to the pre-order beta when available and you will get Shang Tsung as a playable character. Mortal Kombat 1 will be available for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. There will also be a Kollector’s Edition available at select retailers.
