Theoretical astrophysics fascinates the crap out of me. I certainly don't claim to be able to understand even half of it, but when it is put into terms I can understand I absolutely love it. The fine folks over at Did You Know Gaming took the time to research what professional astrophysicists have to say about the workings of the technology in the Halo franchise. Some of it holds up, others not so much. Some of it is merely dreaming big, and other parts are tech that we're actually getting close to cracking ourselves. I'm a firm believer that the best science fiction always puts a healthy emphasis on actual science before building the fiction. Say what you will about Master Chief and his fellow Spartans, but Halo has done its homework over the years.
