The development team behind the acclaimed pixelated adventure The Longest Road on Earth recently released a teaser for their newest project. IDEA is a physics-based puzzle game inspired by the drone short film of the same name directed by Olli Huttunen, as seen above.
Your goal is to guide a 2D animated lightbulb through aerial shots of various roadways, all filmed at a stunning 4k resolution, before time runs out. If you don’t make it, don’t worry! IDEA isn’t a game about speed running, it’s a poetic experience meant to be shared with other players. When you get stuck, you’ll be given the chance to write a thought and share it in-game. Start the game up again and you’ll be able to see not just your thoughts, but the thoughts of other people playing alongside you.
IDEA will attempt to capture the same energy as developer The Longest Road Games harnessed in their previous project, The Longest Road on Earth. Both games encourage the player to find beauty in the mundane, with gameplay aided by stunning visuals and soothing music.
