Play As Apan, A New Character For CHILDREN OF MORTA

The Bergsons’ House update is available now for Children of Morta on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.

This is the first big update that I’ve seen since the game launched when I reviewed the game on the Xbox One. There are a lot of things to enjoy with the new update—nine new story cutscenes, changes to the HUD and UI, as well as additional bug fixes—but the main announcement is the new playable character!

The update introduces Apan, a mid-range fighter who wields her staff to conjure spells and beat back the monsters that threaten the safety of the land. She’s the clanmother in her homeland north of Mount Morta.,

Designed as a support character, she can excel in mid-range combat, evade attacks with her Asva Pulse dash, and leave her enemies stunned and defeated with area-of-effect spells. She’s a solid single-player character, but she’s also well-suited for cooperative play.

The best part? Apan was designed by some of the original Kickstarter backers for the game. Known as AgaRar and GlueBubble, these passionate gamers designed a meaningful narrative for the character that ties into the strong themes in Children of Morta.

So enjoy a brand-new character, Apan-specific runes, and an excellent excuse to jump back into the rogue-lite dungeon crawler.
