POKEMON SCARLET and VIOLET DLC Announced

This week’s Pokémon Presents brought a healthy dose of fresh Pokémon news for millions of fans around the world. There was something for everyone, whether you’re a card collector, mobile enthusiast, or MOBA pro. But arguably the biggest news came at the end of the presentation as The Pokémon Company and Nintendo unveiled new content for Pokémon Scarlet/Violet.

The expansion is titled The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, and it will add new stories, areas, and Pokémon to the sprawling Paldea region. It will be broken up into two parts: The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disc. The Teal Mask will take players to the forested Land of Kitakami for a special festival, while the Indigo Disc will introduce the Blueberry Academy, a new school located in the middle of the ocean.

Each part is also headlined by new legendary Pokémon and will feature a colorful cast of characters to support the protagonist on their journey. Both parts will also bring Pokémon from previous generations to Scarlet and Violet which were missing in the base game. Additionally, prepurchasing The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero gives players immediate access to new uniform options and a Hisuian Zoroark with a rare attack.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is available for preorder. The Teal Mask will launch in Fall 2023 and The Indigo Disc will launch in Winter 2023. Pokémon Scarlet/Violet are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
