Buckshot Software and Retrovibe recently announced their upcoming game, Project Warlock II, will be coming to Kickstarter on June 29th. The sequel title will also be launching on Steam Early Access and GOG Games In Development on July 29th.
The Warlock series games are designed as retro shooters, full of bloody pixelated explosions, spells, and carnage! The first title released on PC in 2018, and later arrived on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in 2020. The new game will launch on PC and consoles too, though no specific details have been mentioned on which console platforms it will arrive.
The game’s inspiration comes from retro classics like Blood and Hexen. The developer claims their new project is looking to evolve into a Quake-like game experience. After watching the new game’s announcement trailer, it absolutely brings on the vibes of these classic gory shooters!
The new Warlock title picks up right after the events in the first game. Set in three different episodes, it will feature three playable Warlock characters. These characters: Palmer, Urd and Kirsten, are all Disciples of Warlock from the original title. In the absence of their master, the Disciples set out to investigate the demonic invasion plaguing their respective realms.
Distinguishing itself from its predecessor, the sequel will feature more secrets, upgrades, pickups, jumping, strafing, and destruction! It will also completely overhaul and improve previous systems and functions such as magic, weapons, monsters, visuals, and game saves.
We’re looking forward to this upcoming indie retro shooter. The game updates and new episodes are welcome editions. Project Warlock II is looking like a real over-the-top pixelated gory blast!
